Hans Evers is from Hamburg, Germany. A life-long fishkeeper, Hans is one of the most well-known personalities within our hobby, famous for his many articles and books. He was the editor for Amazonas Magazine for many years, and is also known as a skilled breeder of many types of fish – especially Catfishes of the Callichthyidae (Corydoras & co.) and Loricariidae (L-numbers and such) families. Tetras and Rainbowfishes are also well represented in his list of breeding accomplishments. Mr.Evers has travelled the world extensively, especially South America and Asia. He has collected countless species of fish, and documented their habitats, often displayed through wonderful articles and talks for aquarium societies and events all over the world.
At the Bergen Aquarium Conference 2026, Hans will do two talks: One on collecting the Rio Trombetas in Brazil, and one on Rainbowfish collecting in west Papua, Indonesia.
